What you're agreeing to
These terms cover the AGI for Anyone macOS app and the agiforanyone.com website, published by Pierre Riche, an individual based in Switzerland ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, or by using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What the app is
AGI for Anyone is a free macOS app that installs and runs Claude Code — Anthropic's AI coding agent — inside a real terminal, and adds a sidebar, session search, and notifications around it. It is a front end. It does not replace your Anthropic account, and it does not process your prompts or files itself; Claude Code does that, talking directly to Anthropic. Not affiliated with Anthropic
AGI for Anyone is an independent, third-party project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. "Claude" and "Claude Code" are Anthropic's trademarks, used here only to describe what the app does. Anthropic is not responsible for this app, and any problem with Claude Code itself or with Anthropic's service is between you and Anthropic, not us.
Free of charge
The app costs nothing to download or use, and there is no license to buy or activate. (It briefly had a paid subscription before 3 August 2026, gating only automatic updates — never the app itself. If you held a key from that period, it still works for what it always did; see the Privacy Policy for how that's handled now.) Using Claude Code still requires your own Anthropic account — a Claude Pro or Max subscription, or one you create during setup — and that's a separate bill you pay directly to Anthropic, not to us.
The source is MIT-licensed; the app you download is free to use
The app's source code is published under the MIT License — you're free to read it, fork it, modify it, and build your own copy. The signed, notarized build we publish is the same code, free to download and run. Claude Code itself is separate software, installed by our app but owned and licensed by Anthropic under its own terms — our MIT license does not extend to it.
You're responsible for what you let it do
The app can run Claude Code in an autonomous mode, where it reads, writes, and deletes files and runs commands on your Mac without stopping to ask each time. That mode only ever turns on after you explicitly accept a one-time consent screen, and you can switch back to "ask before each action" anytime in Settings.
There is no undo. In a folder tracked by git, most changes can be recovered through git's own history — but for anything else (a folder of documents, accounts, contracts), a deletion is permanent. Turn on Time Machine, or another backup you trust, before pointing Claude at anything you can't afford to lose. You are responsible for what you ask the agent to do and for what you let it access; we are not able to review, approve, or reverse any individual action it takes on your Mac.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any specific use. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of the app, including any data loss or any action Claude takes on your Mac. This mirrors the standard MIT license disclaimer that governs the source code itself.
Other software the app relies on
Using the app means you're also bound by the terms of the services it connects to on your behalf:
- Anthropic's Consumer Terms (or Commercial Terms for a Team/Enterprise account) and Anthropic's own usage policies, for Claude Code itself.
- GitHub's terms, for downloading the app and receiving updates.
- Polar.sh's terms, only if you hold a license key from before the app went free.
Age requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to use this app. If you use it through a Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise account, you must also separately meet Anthropic's own eligibility requirements for that account and plan.
Changes to the app and to these terms
The app updates itself in the background and applies the update the next time you open it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly how. We may change, add to, or discontinue the app or the website at any time, without owing you continued availability, since it's provided free of charge. We may also update these terms; when we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms — if you don't, the source is MIT-licensed and always available, or you can simply stop using the app.
Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it — nothing further is owed either way. We may also stop supporting or distributing the app at any time; because the source is MIT-licensed, the version you have (or the code itself) remains yours to keep and build from.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved directly will be brought before the competent courts at the publisher's place of business in Switzerland.
If part of these terms doesn't hold up
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about using the app — nothing outside this page and the Privacy Policy is part of it.
