What exactly am I paying for?
The code is free; the convenience is $19/year. You get the signed, notarized build (no Gatekeeper warnings) and one-click updates for as long as you’re subscribed — and you fund the project’s survival.
Why a subscription?
Because the honest version of “pay once” would be abandonware. Claude Code changes constantly; the yearly fee pays for keeping this app compatible with it. The day we stop earning it, stop paying — nothing you have is taken away.
What happens if I cancel?
Nothing dramatic. Your app keeps working exactly as it is, forever. Updates stop arriving; resubscribe whenever you want them back.
Is my code or my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally on your Mac. The app makes exactly two network calls: validating your license key and checking for updates. Claude Code itself talks to Anthropic the same way it always does — we’re not in that loop.
Do I need Claude Code or a Claude subscription?
Yes: the app is a home for Claude Code, which needs an Anthropic account. Don’t have it installed? The app installs it for you, inside its own terminal, on first run.
How many Macs?
Yours. One license covers up to 3 of your own Macs.
